THE BRIEFING
Our expert team of plumbers were required to replace two hot water calorifiers, as well as installation of pipework and additional fittings.
The school required the removal and replacement of two Ormandy Rycroft 2000-litre hot water calorifiers located in the main second-floor plant room. The thermal insulation jackets and casings to the hot water calorifiers also needed to be removed and replaced, as well as modifying the heating and water services pipework to suit the new hot water calorifiers. Finally, the two existing 500-litre potable water expansion vessels serving the hot water calorifiers needed to be removed and replaced.
IN THE END
The team carried out all work with minimal disruption to the school environment, maintaining a safe and secure area for both staff and students throughout the project. All existing plumbing, heating, and electrical systems were carefully decommissioned and made safe prior to installation.
The team were on-site for five weeks, with the project including the supply and installation of two new Ormandy Rycroft 2000-litre, vertical, copper direct hot water calorifiers complete with plate heat exchangers. The calorifiers were supplied in three sections, for ease of installation, along with new thermal insulation and aluminium cladding cases to the two hot water calorifiers.
Modifications to existing water services and heating pipework were carried out to suit the new hot water calorifiers. Finally, we supplied and installed two Jet 500-litre potable water expansion vessels.
