OUR CLIENT
Shaw Education Trust is a growing multi-academy trust committed to delivering high-quality education to children of all ages and abilities. One of its valued schools, Endon High School, is a smaller secondary school located on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent. With a student body of approximately 700, the school welcomes pupils from a diverse range of abilities, backgrounds, and economic circumstances.
THE BRIEFING
The school required the installation of new heating pipework and radiators across several areas of the school, including the Design & Technology block, along with the Modern Foreign
Languages area. The scope of work included the complete removal of the existing heating emitters and their associated flow and return pipework, as well as the replacement of radiators.
IN THE END
To avoid disruption to learning, all works were completed during the school holidays, with strict safety and security measures maintained throughout the project.
Our experienced engineering team began by safely decommissioning the old heating system. The existing low temperature heating pipework and emitters were fully removed.
New pipework was then installed from the plant room and distributed at high level through the corridors, with local drops into rooms to supply the new radiators.
Our in-house engineers carried out the full installation and commissioning of each system including:
• A total of 20 new radiators were installed in various rooms, placed below windows or along perimeter walls whenever possible.
• Each unit was equipped with Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) and Lockshield Valves (LSVs) to enhance efficiency and temperature control.
• Radiant panels were installed in the roofs of three of the rooms for even more energy efficiency, complete with two port zone valves.
• Thermal installation installed to pipework.
With the upgrade now complete, the school is ready to welcome students and staff back to a warmer, more energy-efficient environment this autumn – and a more comfortable winter ahead.
