OUR CLIENT
Kier Facilities Services provide maintenance and compliance services for public sector clients in workplaces across the UK. Grenoside Community Primary School is set in the village of Grenoside, Sheffield, and have just under 350 students.
THE BRIEFING
The school required an upgrade on their current heating system as it was no longer reliable. We recommended that a plant room upgrade would provide a much more energy efficient and reliable source of heating.
Our team of experienced engineers carried out the following:
- Install three new Remeha Quinta Ace 160kw heating boilers, along with pipes and flue.
- Install two new Lochinvar CHL range water heaters.
- Move the gas meter to make it easier to access and maintain.
- Relocate the cold-water storage tank and put in a new base.
- Chemically treat systems after the new boilers are installed.
- Include two carbon monoxide detectors in the boiler room and the nearby corridor where the flue pipes are.
We carried out the design, installation, and certification of all the systems mentioned above.
IN THE END
Our engineers carried out the project during the summer holidays and completed the refurbishment before pupils came back for the new term. The installation of three new Remeha Quinta Ace 160kW heating boilers ensures better energy efficiency. These modern, high-efficiency boilers are designed to reduce energy consumption, providing significant cost savings on fuel bills while improving the overall performance of the heating system.
With two new water heaters, Grenoside benefits from a more reliable and efficient hot water system. These heaters are designed to provide consistent and high-quality hot water, even during periods of high demand.
