The Light Cinema, Sittingbourne

The New Cinema:

The Light Cinema Group is a nationwide operator of cinema, bowling and dining locations; of which Sittingbourne is the most recent completed site.

Located a short walk from Sittingbourne train station amongst restaurants, bars, and shops, the Light Cinema was looking for an MEP fit-out for their opening in May 2021.

As the centrepiece of the newly developed Bourne Plaza, the complex boasts an eight-screen cinema, nine-lane bowling alley, retro-style arcade, diner and three bars. The perfect venue for having a great time with friends and family!

There are a combined 675 cinema seats across the eight screens, ranging from 175 in Screen One, to 35 seats in the “studio” style screen. These seats come in three types: standard, full-length loungers, and plush electric recliners. No matter which screen you’re in, customers get a comfy seat!

The Briefing:

Beginning in January 2020, Ford Mainwaring was fortunate to be involved in the project from an early date, and was able to discuss the needs and expectations to help create the perfect environment for the customers.

The 8 screen cinema, bowling alley, and bar project comprised of the complete project management and delivery of all Mechanical & Electrical interior fit-out. From shell through to decorative finishes, working with ATS Premier Interiors and supply chain partners to successfully deliver the project.
